A local guy: Rod brings with him more than 30 years of local knowledge of the Cowichan Valley. Along with his wife, Heatherann, Rod has raised his family here and has a thorough understanding of why this is a wonderful place to live. Who Served his Country: Rod was an Infantry Officer in the Canadian military for fifteen years serving mostly in western Canada and internationally in Europe, Cyprus and as a Military Observer in Rwanda. And his Community: An experienced small business owner, a former member of the Advisory Planning Commission for his local area, and has served on the board of the Shawnigan Residents Association, Rod firmly believes that responsible growth is the future of one of the fastest-growing communities on Vancouver Island and is familiar with local planning and development issues.
