TYPE OF USE
Sacavém is located in the eastern part of the municipality of Loures, bordering the Northwest with the parish of Unhos, to the west with Camarate, to the Southwest with the Prior Velho, to the South with Portela and southwest with Moscavide. The East is bathed by the Tagus Estuary and to the north is the Trancão River, (formerly called Sacavém River), which separates this parish of Bobadela.
Traditionally it is divided into Sacavém de Cima and Sacavém de Baixo, recently new urbanizations have emerged in the city, and it was already a very urbanized parish.
It has only three elevations: monte do Convento, Monte de Sintra and Monte do Mocho.
The parish of Sacavém had previously a much wider space, losing over time the neighboring villages of São João da Talha, Bobadela, Camarate, Prior Velho, Portela, Moscavide, and Santa Maria dos Olivais.
