It was 1939 when the architect Ettore Rossi, an authoritative representative of rationalism and rigorism, was commissioned by the family of the Duce Benito Mussolini to design a private and exclusive villa where he could spend convivial moments immersed in the countryside just a few minutes from Rome: the hunting lodge at Marcigliana.
The location on which to build the property was not chosen by chance: dominating the highest hill of the Marcigliana Reserve, it boasts a breathtaking 360-degree panorama that ranges from the Terminillo mountains to the Castelli Romani, from the Tiber Valley to the Tolfa mountains and even, on particularly clear days, to the Argentario promontory, with the city of Rome and the dome of St. Peter's at the center of it all.
