Working within the world of real estate has
been an interest of mine since I was a child. Having grown up in a family of
homebuilders, the jobsite was always felt like a familiar place to me. I loved
it. Any opportunity I had to hop in my fathers work van and ride off alongside
him to work would be met with excitement.
The whole process of building a home was something I found joy in, from
digging out the basement to installing the final pieces of hardware.
As I got older, the aspects of design and
presentation began to resonate more as areas of interest, which actually led me
to pursue a degree in Fashion Management, another passion of mine. After
attending George Brown College I secured a position with the fashion retailer Boathouse as a Visual Trainer for 13
stores across Southern Ontario, where I was responsible for the design and
layout of all of the clothing displays.
While finding that experience with Boathouse rewarding, working within that
industry allowed me to discover that it was in fact my first love of real estate
that was offering what I was truly looking for in a career. I decided to move
back home to Brantford and put my work boots back on. I felt that I still had
more to learn and was lucky enough to spend eight months working with my father
developing and building a 23-unit condominium site in St. George called Glenwood Forest. I was there with him
almost every step of the way and was able to gain a deeper level of
understanding and appreciation for what it takes to build a livable, quality
home.
I continued to work alongside my father for
several years after that condominium project. By the time I was 23, I was able
to utilize what I had learned to confidently purchase my first rental property
through Coldwell Banker. At 26 I decided I felt that the time had finally come
to make the move into real estate and enrolled in the courses I would need to
take to advance my knowledge in this field.
Today, I am a proud member of the Coldwell
Banker team, ready to help you find the joy and excitement of buying a new home
with confidence.
